Seeding & Tie Break Rules for AAYSC


Tournament Structure:


 

Round Robin (4 Team )

  1. Every team will play each other
  2. Championship seeding will be determined by the “Round Robin Seeding Procedure” below

 

Round Robin Seeding Procedure: (Win-Loss or PCT)

(Two way tie)

  1. Head-to-head between tied teams
  2. Runs allowed (RA)
  3. Runs scored (RS)
  4. Total run differential (RD)
  5. Actual run differential in last pool game played
  6. Coin Flip

(Three way tie)

  1. Head-to-head
  2. Runs allowed (RA)
  3. Runs scored (RS)
  4. Run differential (RD)
  5. Actual run differential in last pool game played
  6. Coin Flip

Note:

  • When 3 or more teams are tied and there are common opponents between all tied teams – seeding will be determined individually using the Round Robin Seeding Procedure above.  Example: seed 1 is determined through the Three way tie process… seed 2 will be determined by the same process separately.  Head-to-head is boss.
  • When 3 or more teams are tied and there is not a common opponent between all tied teams, run differential is the tie breaker.
  • Ties will be counted as a .5 win.

IMPORTANT: Run differential maximum

  • Forfeits will be scored 7-0

 

Single Elimination Bracket Play (pools with more than 4 teams)

  1. Every team will have 2-3 pool play games
  2. Seedings will be determined by the results of pool play games and the “Single Elimination Procedure” below.

 

Single Elimination Seeding Procedure: (Win-Loss or PCT)

Note:
